International Joint Undergraduate Programme in Economics between Dokuz Eylül University and Ganja State University
The programme is an international joint education and training programme in the field of “Economics” between Dokuz Eylül University and Ganja State University (Azerbaijan) for a single (joint) undergraduate degree. Students alternately spend half of their 4-year education in Turkey and half in Azerbaijan.
This programme will start accepting students as of 2024-2025 academic year. Students who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey will be placed in the Joint Programme according to the results of the TYT and AYT exams conducted by OSYM, depending on the EA (Equal Weight) score. The admission of students who are not citizens of the Republic of Turkey will be made within the quota allocated for foreign students, starting from the highest score according to the results of the ‘Dokuz Eylül University Foreign Student Placement Examination (DEYÖS)’ to be held by DEU. The conditions for the admission of students from Ganja State University to the programme will be carried out by Ganja State University in accordance with the provisions of the legislation dated 01.05.2015 and numbered 125 “Law on education of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan in foreign countries, education of foreigners and persons without citizenship in the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
The quota allocated for the 2024-2025 academic year within the joint undergraduate programme for students from the Republic of Turkey is 15 (fifteen) and the quota allocated for students from the Republic of Azerbaijan is 15 (fifteen). (1) The student of the joint programme is obliged to pay the fee announced by the University for the relevant academic year to Dokuz Eylül University during his/her education in Turkey. The tuition fee is paid in two equal instalments. The first instalment is paid at the beginning of the academic year during registration or registration renewal, and the second instalment is paid at the beginning of the second semester during registration renewal. The joint programme student will pay the annual regular tuition fee determined by Ganja State University during the period of study in Azerbaijan.
The joint undergraduate programme will provide a unique experience for students from both sides by offering them the opportunity to study in two different countries and at two different universities. In the joint degree programme, students will get to know two different cultures closely. Students will be able to achieve great success both nationally and internationally in the field of Economics depending on their achievements in this programme. Students in this programme will have a diploma approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), which will be jointly awarded by both institutions upon graduation.
Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Azerbaijan Ganja State University joint international undergraduate programme in Economics has a four-year education period. Students will study the 1st and 2nd academic years of their undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the 3rd and 4th academic years at Ganja State University Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Students enrolled in the joint undergraduate programme will be able to complete the part above the normal duration in their home countries.
The medium of instruction of the programme is Turkish at Dokuz Eylül University and Azerbaijani Turkish at Azerbaijan Ganja State University. Candidates who have graduated from the relevant institutions abroad and have the right to enroll in the aforementioned joint programme must have a Turkish Proficiency Certificate at C1 or B1 level in order to start their education at Dokuz Eylül University. C1 Level: Turkish is sufficient. They can start their education. B1 Level: Turkish can improve in a short time. He/she can start his/her studies, but he/she has to improve his/her Turkish proficiency level to C1 level until he/she graduates. Azerbaijani language courses will be organised for the candidates who are eligible to study in the joint programme to start their studies at Ganja State University. From the beginning of the study until graduation, the student is obliged to raise the level of knowledge of Azerbaijani to the required level.
